Lalala bamba. Peggy Sue rides the wings. Once more music stops. But the ears hear records continue to spin plane tales over and over. I’ve learned the words of woe.
What strikes me is the moment when death stops being only a threat and becomes a presence to speak with. No longer just an ending, but something that makes the awakening to the music and light already within us feel more urgent.
It’s when the pain stops you know you’re in trouble. Great work Ray ✌️
thanks, weather!

The music and light plays in all of us, Ray. Sometimes there’s even an audience that sings along.
“My personal AI assistant” for the Grim Reaper? :D
The ending, though.
“Wake me to the music
and light playing
in all of us” <3
“I felt the chill
of a church organ
playing on its own
candles lighting themselves
I knew Daddy wouldn’t
be coming home” Good writing, Ray. A moving piece.
thanks a lot, Sam!
“church organ playing on its own” - childhood memory unlocked x
thanks moty!
Death as an interruption rather than end. Love it, and the thought of that awakening. Nice one, Ray!!
thanks Nora!!!
Dem wounds become wombs when we're ready to surrender 'em.
